Since 1940, the County Engineers Association of Ohio has worked to unify its members in providing the highest quality transportation, drainage, surveying and land record keeping services. From the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and services to continuing land development needs, CEAO strives to construct solutions for many challenges to Ohio's local infrastructure. Ohio County Engineers are responsible for 26,081 bridges and 28,970 miles of urban and rural roadways that are vital to the combined growth of jobs and prosperity in the state of Ohio.

New roundabout to be constructed in Springfield Twp., Toledo following federal grant

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Lucas County Engineer’s office has been awarded a federal grant for the construction of a roundabout at Holland Sylvania Road and Angola Road, according to a press release.

This project will convert the existing traffic-signal intersection into a single-lane roundabout. It will also update drainage, sidewalks and street lighting.

Construction for the intersection, located in both Springfield Twp. and Toledo, is slated for 2030.

Engineer: Road tax goes the distance for taxpayers

AUSTINTOWN — Mahoning County Engineer Patrick Ginnetti made the first of many stops this week on his campaign to ensure roads and bridges get the attention they need.

He gave a presentation on Mahoning County’s 0.25-percent sales tax before the Austintown Township Board of Trustees during this week’s regular meeting at the Austintown Senior Center.

“We’re in our third year of the sales tax, and it will be on the May primary ballot for renewal,” Ginnetti said. (The Vindicator incorrectly reported earlier this week that the issue would be on the November ballot.)

Logan County Officials assume statewide leadership roles

Several Logan County officials have been elected to leadership positions within statewide professional associations, reflecting the county’s active role in shaping policy and best practices across Ohio.

Logan County Engineer Scott Coleman was elected President of the County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO) in 2025 and will now serve as the organization’s Immediate Past President.

The CEAO works to unify its members in providing the highest quality transportation, drainage, surveying, and land record-keeping services throughout the state.

2026 County Road & Bridge Projects

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – With the Interstate 70 reconstruction grabbing all the attention, there are several county road and bridge projects slated for 2026.

Muskingum County Engineer Mark Eicher listed some of the major transportation tasks that the county has slated for later in the year.

“For 2026 we have a little over 17 miles of paving, new overlays. It’ll be typically an inch-and-a-half overlay over top of the  existing asphalt. That’s equivalent to about $2 million dollars worth of projects right there. We have two bridges that we are bidding out, that will be… contractors will be doing. One’s the First Street Bridge in Roseville, the other is right up here at Kopchak,” Eicher said.

LeBrun announces nearly $2.8 million in grants

Scioto County Engineer Darren LeBrun announced on Wednesday that the Engineer’s Office has been awarded nearly $2.8 million in transportation grant funding to improve safety and infrastructure across the county. The funding includes up to $2,298,905 in Local Bridge Replacement funds to replace the truss bridge on Swords Road, a project approved through the County Engineers Association of Ohio LBR program, which will cover 95% of eligible costs.

The Engineer’s Office also announced that they've received $500,000 through the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission STBG program for Federal Aid Route Safety Improvements on Dixon Mill Road and other county routes. This project includes paving, guardrail upgrades, intersection safety improvements, new signage, pavement markings and drainage work aimed at reducing crash risk and improving driving conditions.
